The Leatherworking Area is located in the classroom. It's a hand-tool space — there's no leatherworking power equipment here, but most small leather projects (wallets, belts, pouches, straps, and similar) can be completed with what's available.

The Leatherworking Area is a hand-tool space, organized into a few basic categories:

JoiningStitching tools, awls, needles, and hardware for hand-sewing and riveting leather pieces together
Punching & ShapingHole punches and mallets for setting rivets, snaps, and other hardware
FinishingEdge bevelers and burnishing tools for smoothing and finishing cut edges
Work SurfacesCutting mats and a dedicated workbench sized for small to medium projects

There is no leatherworking power equipment in this area. Most small projects — wallets, belts, pouches, straps, and similar — can be completed with the hand tools on hand.

Training & Certification

No specific training is necessary to use the Leatherworking Area, but common sense with sharp cutting tools is expected, and some experience with leatherwork is assumed. If you don't have that experience, please attend a class or ask in the appropriate Slack channel before attempting to use the area.
