SAFETY ESSENTIALS
	Wear eye protection (ANSI Z87 preferred) at all times.
	Wear a welding hood, or exit past the welding curtains, whenever welders are in use.
	Wear closed-toe shoes at all times.
	Wear gloves when welding or handling rough metal.
	Do not wear gloves when operating the metal lathes or mill.
	Secure loose hair, clothing, and accessories around moving parts.
	Wear hearing protection as needed.
	Wear breathing protection where fumes or fine particulate are present.
	Argon (non-flammable) shielding gas is in use — secure all compressed gas tanks; do not bring other gases into the building.

Training & Certification

Ask Chuck about welding, plasma-table, or machining certification before your first solo use — no standing training schedule is documented for this area yet.

Some equipment in this area — gas cylinders, cut-off wheels, and similar — can be hazardous and should be treated with extreme care. If you don't have experience with these tools, please don't use them before taking a class or getting one-on-one instruction. Use Slack to find help.
